Sean Connery = Scottish. Close, but no cigar.

You are correct in terms of his actual origins, but the significance of the clip isn't Sir Sean himself, but his role as an Irishman in "Darby O'Gill And The Little People." As a man of Scots ancestry with a set of Irish names myself, I understand the desire to keep it all straight. Of course, most folks aren't that fastidious about such matters: we were all sitting around at work yesterday ragging on the kilted piper outside the "Irish Pub" across the street, playing Highland bagpipes rather than Uilleann pipes.On the other hand, at least it wasn't the usual mix of U2 and the Dropkick Murphys.

Incidentally, I selected that clip primarily because I couldn't locate a good clip of the terrifying banshee sequence. It's a real pants-wetter (at least for children... and the incontinent).

In theme with the Irish / Scotish crossover check out Willy O'Winsbury by Sweeney's Men on you tube, a beautiful ballad. Happy Paddy's day {a lot of people are still celebrating here due to high unemployment and fu**k all else to do}

The Here Comes the Nite is awesome....when you realize that we never got to see any of this ever on a screen in those years, it was all radio. And 45's. Van a young guy. Me too then (1965)
