Atomic Bomb Test, Nevada, May 1955

Scorched & disheveled male mannequin clad in dark business suit standing in the desert with lady mannequin in background, 7000 ft. from the 44th nuclear test explosion, a day after the blast, indicating that humans could be burnt but still alive.

I work for www.lvmannequins.com and love the mannequin photo. Its crazy to see how they used mannequins to bomb tests. Gives a more creapier feeling to mannequins.

Actually, just type in mannequins on the LIFE search engine and you'll find a wealth of incredible images.

It's really incredible that they could even think that a human would be able to endure the bomb. Laughable really.

And hey mr blog owner: I'm happy I found your blog! Lots of nice finds!
